Merging styles and focusing on cultural elements is a new approach to where i see my artwork heading to,

while practicing i see a clear vision of what i want to do concept and material-wise, involving street-art with pop-art , like pasting some illustrations or painting something illustrative as graffiti that has a message.

of Bahrain to Reflect a positive message to the year 2012.

The calendar had 12 different themes done by 12 different Bahraini artists

Colorful Manama Outdoor Exhibition

Last Wednesday bahrain celebrated its National Day in various forms. In Adliyah, a district in m
Manama , an outdoor exhibition was organized by Al-Riwaq Exhibition.
Personally i thought this exhibition is a great insight for bahrain finest street-art potentials with different mediums , using both paint and materials.
These are few pictures from the exhibition .

This is a brilliant installation by Tam which reflects the diversity in both language and color in bahrain.

Graffiti for Bahrain's National Day

This Piece was done for Bahrain's National Day
and will soon be included in a calendar with big artists , such as, Khalid Al Muharraqi .
The calendar is designed to have 12 months of the year on different themes and the one i got was,
Bahrain as a friendly business hub.

This is a new illustration which says : عشقت البحر لخيره
which means I Loved The Sea for its Goodness.
It can be seen not just an artist perspective but also political, because bahrain here is an island
and most of its activities were linked to the sea. but now since the sea is dying this statement could be thought of .

The piece is made out of ink on paper.
been printing it and pasting it around here, mostly in Juffair area, in Bahrain.

Have been putting my stickers around diffrent locations

Ordered cookies creme coffee which is my fav there .

Then i stopped for a second and told myself:

The weather is fantastic

Graffiti In Bristol

This is a Graffiti Piece ive done in Bristol a while back on my summer break

It was done on this Garage door which belongs to a refugee centre .

the wording is a sentence i wrote in arabic which says :

ستمي قلوبنا الصافية تجمعنا حتى لو اختلفت اشكالنا

Which is :
Our pure hearts would bring us together even if our looks are differ .

I thought it would be nice to have it in a town where there lots of people with different backgrounds living together .

That is a picture for the place from Google map before i painted that garage :

it was quiet a challenge cause i had to paint it within less than a day including getting the paint and getting the coach to catch my flight the next morning, but was all fun.

Graffing with Sya and Bow

About 3 weeks ago i planned a trip to visit Dubai and the U.K. and do murals and meet artists.

In Dubai i met one of the most awesome Graffiti couples in the middle east [ SYA and BOW ].

and did a piece in a massive legal wall located in the Festival City.

When we painted it was like 43 degrees and we painted from 4:00 - 7:30 in Ramadan . It was quite a challenge .

I made a Quick Video having everyone painting just here :

If incase anyone intends to paint there , then they should go to marina centre on Jumirah road

and in that gift shop in the picture they will find the cans... they are expensive thought about 60 Derhams about 9 british pounds each, or simply do it with cheap can from construction stores .

Jamming with ZULS

Last night i met one of the most promising talented artist I've seen in bahrain.
He Call Himself " Zuls " pronounced like Zues . his style is manga and comic based
and have an awesome skill at highlighting and drawing awesome shading.

He just Joined the Crew " Mythicolo-G" recently .

Just stay tuned for more of his awesome work.

For now i leave you with our collaborative work from last night. the idea was for us both to make diffrent characters on two pieces of papers and switch every 5-10 mins to add on the other drawing. so at the end both illustrations would have common touches .

Thoughts

lately, i have been having thoughts of using both work and technology to make my materials available to view online, perhaps as a PDF download-able booklet like those on issuu website. Nevertheless, new studies has been carried to draw what i call by Warriors of the Sand, more of angelic/demonic ancient looking guardians. these armored looking beings have been drawn from several references like: Biblical, Babylonian, Arabic and also eastern. this is a scan of one:

Moreover, more calligraphic studies has been carried trying to use multiple layers into one painting using textures made out of letters in different sizes.

My friend Joy is working on a New Project that Exhibit and Auction artwork to raise money and Aid Japan . This is a post taken from Test space that explains the Event, which some of my friends and me have participated in:

[[[In the wake of the recent disaster in Japan, a community of local artists and promoters from all over Yorkshire have been moved to work together in order to raise money and awareness to support the people most affected by one of the biggest earthquakes in the history of our planet.

How does Ink For Aid work?

A group of over 100 artists both locally and internationally are working on submitting pieces of art to the project. We will then hold a live auction event in Leeds at the end of April 2011. Artwork will also be sold online and in local art stalls. All profits will go towards the crisis in Japan.

Despite the current situation here in Bahrain , i still believe that artists should stand strong and encourage them to give and add colors, for positive actions taken by us could alternate this hate and help on Unite and forget our differences .

Market 338 [ Graffiti ]

Last week was a blast ! we had a dramatic change from home and studio painting on weekends to Do graffiti live , which is not so common here.

The place was the market 338 and at the same spot there was an event sponsored by Bahrain TVfor make up at the gallery, which made people curious and look at us Paint.

The piece i have drawn had a basic human figure with arabic calligraphy on, simply to add more of a cultural touch to it, but most importantly the glowing heart in the middle that shows truth , believe and probably faith.

Sticker [ The Bronze Oryx ]

Hello everyone !

This is a picture for the last picture in the line so far, the sticker is made out of different paints and sprays ( all handmade ) .

the Background is painted Gold, and over layered by an arabic/islamic geometric pattern.

The Logo of the Oryx comes on top with a gradual of Maroon to Bronze.

Market 338 ( first week review )

On the 13th and 14th of Jan we had a Shop among other sellers in the 338 Market , which was held by Alriwaq Gallery . Most of the shops did sellart related materials from paintings to Jewellery.

Our Store ( Mythicolo-G ), Had varied Items made by three , who are Huvil , Illuveda and Me. These items were paintings , T-shirts , Badges and , scans and Vinyls.

The tshirts i sold had my new painting's outline ( thus with faith hearts become graceful.

On Saturday, there were a lot of known people and managed to talk to a local celebrities from news too.

Later on we did Doodle on Skaters Team UnknownX skates.

Duabi ( the search for Galleries )

This is more of a dairy for the last visit to dubai. unlike most of the visits this one was focused on getting to galleries and contacting artists/ galleries. My Buddy Huvil was With me backpacking .

On the first day we arrived in the afternoon. and after a long journey food is a must. So, we went to this Lebanese Restaurant which decoration was so Hip and artistic . it had Old arabic cartoons and famous iconic imagery from the middle east on the wallpaper. Moreover, there were lot of cans and products used as decoration on the shelves of that store. the lamps were designed as shumakhs ( an arabic head-wear).

Later on I went to visit all the galleries in DIFC and these are some pictures for random materials:

The most interessting pieces i saw were for a Turkish artist called : Verim Erbil

after roaming around for hours Huvil decided to lay down in front of DIFC gate, its then when i sketched him.

Yesterday was one of these days where time passes really quick and you realise that its gone
Anyways, By the end of it i passed by the [ Unknown ] skate crew here and did some spraying and sketching, it was also fun watching them doing and explaining some tricks.

Last week i had a creative night walk with my buddy Illuveda in al-adlya area which was pretty productive ,
It started from albareh gallery , which had an international group exhibition with bird themes.the evening later on extended to live sketches and meeting new people at night.

Also, Albareh Gallery cafe i found these amazing calligraphic paintings , they may not be as clear but worth looking at . the writings or letters were over-layered with similar patterns with the same color contrast which made more organic .

Motör Militia album cover [ journal - pt1 ]

Me and my friends , Huvil , Illuveda and Intel , spent a productive friday having socials and also meeting with the famous Thrash Metal Bahraini band Motör Militia. the Target that meeting was to design an artistic album for their upcoming album [

Cloaked In Darkness]. The album has awesome brutal tracks consisting of music influenced via the local and regional events, news and activities

Chilling Out !

Yesterday i had the pleasure of meeting up with my Dear Friends Intel and Rayen with the crew.
We did chat about bahrain's art scene and different projects including exhibitions , and videos of artist interviewed and captured doing murals in both collaborative and solo work.

We exchanged a lot of information, locally and internationally about the different scenes mostly here and Philippines, and it surprising to know all about the art movement there.

Streetart [ Bahrain ] No.1

Felt like ages since i covered anything streetart related , especially cause i been away training and studying than painting hmm.

Anyway, Through the last few Months i have been looking around for street-art materials, around the country and taking snaps of. Flowers of Enlightenment

These two paintings were based on a collaborative -work Idea with my Friend Illuveda creating an abstract background.

Now these are sneak previews for both flowers without the lettering.

since i only have one day to paint these days, i am taking these two pieces to the coffee shop with me now and finishing the lettering.

Sneaky Sketches

These are sketches i managed to do through the last few days.
Ive been staying in an in-stay college [ military type ] and managed to sneak in a sketch book.
these sketches been done in law classes ( which is the only time possible to do any sketches ).

these are few scans i managed to upload now:

this character is a concept from an upcomming comic been writing now for a while called Children of the Moon

Greek and Religious referenced Character Alexander the great rough sketch from mind..i think he looks different but i like the horns concept

another armoured character from the comic , these characters always wear these human shaped armours with gears and patterns attached to their back giving them aura looking [ they are called Ouras ]

a rough sketch for a painting... since i cannot paint as often , i draw sketches mostly and maybe base some painting on them

having fun with pencil and ink... i think he looks more regional

A visit to Dubai !

I went to Dubai Last week. i had the chance to travel and meet artists from Dubai.

Over there i met Mo from Foo-Dog [ http://www.foo-dog.com ] , also Guillermo Munro [ http://guillermomunro.net ] and Ayaa.

these guys are involved in Project Mega , whereas Mo is the founder and director of it. these guys are awesome so make sure you check out thier work ;)

Alriwaq's Doodle-fest [ review ]

The gallery took place last sunday the 17th of October 2010.

when i got there at about 7:45 , the place was already packed and people were doodling everywhere and most of the spaces were already felled.

The organisers showed a good job at sorting out the place, paintings and invitation too.

On the other hand, people seemed happy and enjoying their time , taking , discussing and also drawing.

Perry's Beatles Exhibition

Perry had an exhibition on Oct the 30th at the World Beat Centre . the show was a tribute to the fab four , the Beatles .

the show paintings drawn with oil colour , showing great quality . There was also another partition of her work that merges both photography and typography.

Doodle Fest !

the second is a part of series called Us and Them.

a part of 7 painting sets showing interaction between humans and other beings.

the idea is based on phycological and cultural aspects , those which reflect fear and ambiguous .

Aramco's Ramadan Festival [5] [ The Second Piece ]

in the Second Piece El-Seed joined .

since this piece is bigger he suggested that all pieces should have a unified background with a message that sums all the graffiti individual pieces.

the main theme was an arabic writing in the background that said : people's hearts changes faster than the view of the city

then all sketches were fitted in the massive sketch as shown at the hotels mini meeting room.

since moving out to the wall was after [ eshaa2 prayers ] time before then was used for planning

as you can see here el-seed was giving instructions about the background and writing

Is a group of professionals in programming, illustration and animators based in United Arab Emirates, specializing in Video Game developments and Animation.

i knew some of them for ages, like Ibrahim [ www.holypixles.com ] . we were in an art forum back in the day and just met last yea through a trip to dubai.

this year they manage to develop few demos.one of these is a video game called: Project Flame its a great 2D game which reminds me by Megaman Zero

Aramco's Ramadan Festival [4] [ The First Piece ]

more updates from Aramco Fest.

early that morning me and the guys met in my room ( which i miss already )

we discussed the positioning our our pieces cause they were next to each other and had similar colors.

the piece took about 2 and a half days to do in 3 hours each day and this is the final result

my part was the hooded beast with the arabic writings and also the shinning guy

huvil had the hooded lady drawn on the left and elluminatus had the colourful cat to my right

and again we hit the bus at 1 to go back to the hotel

all the guys and girls made a move the next morning to get materials for the wall.

Aramco's Ramadan Festival [2] [ Meeting ]

On the same first night, we came back to the hotel and there were a discussion about placements of the sketches. i have to admit that it didn't sound easy and especially for graffiti people , cause individuals would tend to chase big spaces and take over others.
the planning process lacked a leader, especially cause it was our first time painting together and none of sides know each other potentials. however, people were understanding to that point and tried to share the space equally as much as possible.
when the 30 meters were distributed among 15 artists each had about 2-3 meters .

these are pictures from the meeting it was fun and met even more artist when we came back to the hotel.

and at 2am we hit the lobby and back to our rooms !

Aramco's Ramadan Festival [1]

Has been commissioned along with my crew buddies ( Mythicolo-G ) to paint a massive wall in Aramco's Ramadan Show. these are regular updates including picture of activities and sites through the journey.

we stayed in the holiday inn hotel and were later taken later to the exhibition site where all painters, calligraphers and activities are.

along with all the art activities there were big celebrties, like actors from { bab el harah : an arabic famous show } .

these are pictures from the exhibition/activities area:

the first wall was 30 meters wide

supprisingly, we met artists from Jeddah and they were about 12 artists. they were pretty talented and friendly ^^

We also encountered guys from the east side of Saudia they were also enthusiastic and curious about new forms of graffiti and new knowledge, probably cause its material and meetings like these are extremly rare in the middle east.

artists were showing materials from their sketchbooks also and talking about the wall.

this is an insight for one of the art tents, it was like an amazing portable exhibition with tonnes of talents from the region .
